Often referred to as just the ‘Easains’ or ‘This Yin and That Yin’, Stob Coire Easain and Stob a’Choire Mheadhoin are the Munro peaks on high ground running above the deep glacial trough of Loch Treig.

Stob Coire Easain in particular is a fine bouldery peak and offers superb views.
They are quite hidden away behind other summits from most roads which perhaps explains why they are not better known and why I enjoyed hiking them as much as I did. I love that feeling of being alone on the mountain.

These are a pleasant pair of Munros that are both rocky on high sections of the peaks, but otherwise delightfully grassy. There is also a fairly long ridgewalk which offers some stunning views.

With excellent views on show all day, into the Grey Corries, the Mamores and towards the remote hills surrounding Corrour whats not to like, they are spectacular.
After summiting Stob Coire Easain we desended back down the mountain and right back up to summit Stob a’Choire Mheadhoin for a second time before retracing our footsteps back to the van.
