After years of walking from a very young age, hillwalking including Munro bagging, trekking short and long distance walks, hiking and camping such as The West Highland Way and The Cowal Way carrying full equipment to be self sufficient, I want more!
After visiting Yosemite National Park and the Grand Canyon and doing some short walks in each it made me hungry to want to explore!
I would love to visit Yellowstone, The Rockies, Andes, Utah, Alaska…my list is endless.
My ultimate dream would be to one day do a thru-hike, somewhere like the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) which is a 2,660 mile backpacking trail starting somewhere along the Mexico/USA border near San Diego California and stretching all the way to Canada. I love backpacking, have a passion for nature and being outdoors, you could say I dream of being nomadic, of being wild and free. Ultimately I want to become Hikertrash: a long distance hiker, shabby and homeless in appearance, rarely bathed and rank in odour, more at home outdoors than in society with a deep reverence and respect for all things wild. Ow my family would be so proud of me!!!
On New Years Day 2017 I had a very sudden urge to further my travels and visit Nepal in general and more specifically to trek to Everest Base Camp…..and so the story begins!
