Inspirations

I enjoy watching/reading about Levison Woods adventures, a former British Army Officer and Explorer best known for his extended walking expeditions in Africa, Asia and Central America. In 2015 he walked the length of the Himalayas, a 6 month journey of over 1,700 miles from Afghanistan to Bhutan….I was suddenly inspired by The Himalayas and all that they offered.

Simon Reeves a British author and television presenter is another inspiration. He makes documentaries in little-known areas of the world which combine travel and adventure with global environmental, wildlife, and conservation issues, these have taken him across jungles, deserts, mountains and oceans, and to some of the most beautiful, dangerous and remote regions of the world.

Ben Fogle, a modern day journeyman is someone I always envy and would love to swap places with.  His shows ‘Lives in the Wild’ whereby he meets people who have given up the rat race for a simple life always inspires me…and what a way to experience the world!

Aldo Kane a former Commando sniper but now an explorer and adventurer who visits hostile and extreme locations is another inspiration – but someone who really does takes things to the extreme and is epitome of the meaning ‘Tested Beyond Endurance’.

And then there’s the enthusiasm, of Steve Backshall, a naturalist, writer and television presenter.  His passion for discovery in terms of new lands and new species is addicting.  Some of his work includes him being part of expedition teams taking him to some amazing lands.
