• Vizzavona – Gite U Fugone

We reluctantly left our beautiful, clean and peaceful hotel after breakfast which I couldn’t stomach due to my last nights dinner.  This was so disappointing as the breakfast was so beautifully done. 

But before we knew it we were back on the trail like we had never left.

From Vizzavona we made our way up to Bocca Palmente, the trail zig zaged  upwards through the woods.

Once across this high col the trail drops down before leveling out and staying on an easyish undulating path for some time, it felt nice.

We passed two well kept shepherds’ cabins, Alzeta and Scarpaceghje, before we had a last pull up through the Sambucco woods to  bring us out just above the ski station.  This was one steep hard last pull up! 

We ‘booked in’ and went in search for a tent spot only to find very limited and unsuitable  places so we had to resort to pitching our tent at the the end of the camp sites tents.
