Ho Chi Minh (Saigon)

Today we are catching a flight and heading to Ho Chi Minh City.

Ho Chi Minh City, which is still known as Saigon by the Vietnamese, is a blend of the old and the new.

Its a buzzing modern metropolis, with a scattering of Colonial buildings and ancient temples representing past and present.

Although Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City is much more commercial and Cosmopolitan.

Ho Chi Minh City is the business and financial hub of Vietnam, with lots of high rise buildings and international brands.

It has fascinating culture, classic French architecture, and sleek skyscrapers as well as ornate temples and pagodas.

We visited the Central Post Office, a beautifully preserved remnant of French colonial times and is said to be perhaps the grandest post office in all of Southeast Asia.

We then visited Notre Dam Cathedral next door.

We also visited some very old streets.

Wandering through timeless alleys to incense-infused temples it has everything you could possibly want.

Its chaotic, elegant, exotic and zestful.

In the evening we visited the bustling Ben Thanh Market to pick up some souvenirs and haggle with the locals, were getting better at this!
