The Pap of Glencoe – that familiar landmark at the lower end of the Glen which forms that ‘classic’ view to the entrance of Glencoe.

This walk was going to be a hit or miss due to weather conditions. We took ages to decide if we were going to commit and once we saw a tiny bit of blue sky coming through it was enough, we were off.

The walk up was pretty steep but with views like today, who cared. The clouds came and went and we even got caught up in a few snow flurries. I hoped it would clear up by the time we reached the summit as good views from any hill in Glencoe are always stunning.

This is usually a very popular hike in the summer so we were hoping for a relatively quiet day today. We were pleasantly surprised at meeting no-one whatsoever until we hit the summit and met 3 guys.

Once on the summit we were truly given some stunning views over Loch Leven, the giant peaks of the Mamores, Ben Nevis and down to Loch Linnhe at the gateway of Glencoe.

Literally five steps from walking off the summit we were caught in a snow storm.

This might be viewed as a wee baby in comparison to the surrounding giants of Glencoe, but its still worth the hike.

Hope you enjoyed the video above of the stunning ‘Pap’ and Glencoe Valley 💙🏴
