Kathmandu Sightseeing…Part 1

Woo hoo managed to sleep in slightly this morning…the one and only time though!

Spent the day exploring some of Kathmundu but doing the bigger sight seeing tomorrow whereby we will be visiting some of the temples.

One of the many streets within the Thamel district

Tuck tucks

Also went to the Garden of Dreams for some tranquility to escape the buzz of the city as it is quite a buzz!

The Garden of Dreams is a neo classical historical garden.

You wouldn’t think these pictures have been taken right bang in the middle of such hustle and bustle….a peaceful oasis…it’s a two minute walk but feels like a thousand miles away from central Thamel.

Despite some damage from the 2015 earthquake, the beautifully restored Swapna Bagaicha (Garden of Dreams) remains one of the most serene and beautiful places in Kathmandu.

So after feeling refreshed and rejuvenated with its ambience we headed back to the riot of sights, sounds and smells.

Eventually managed to pick up some gifts to bring home as well as we will not have much time from here on in…and practiced our ‘haggling’ with the shop keepers…we are improving!

Now for a non alcoholic Pina Colada!!!!!!!

This blogging business is thirsty work!
