The Beast from the East…

The Beast from the East hit Fife today with red alert warnings in place advising people to stay off the roads and stay indoors…

..so we decided to hit Benarty Hill and pay the Sleeping Giant a visit.

Benarty Hill stands proudly in the Fife landscape.

Known locally as Benarty, she rises north of Kelty in the west of Fife in Scotland

I did manage to capture Kelty from the summit – at least I got a view.

The summit ridge forms the boundary with Perth and Kinross.

Usually views can be seen across Loch Leven to the Lomand Hills, and across the Firth of Forth to the Pentland Hills.

Distant views to the north and west are dominated by the Southern Highlands.

Usually the short and straightforward hill walk gives rewarding and stunning views.

Today however was slightly different.

The views came and went…..briefly!

And the walk turned out to be not so short and not so straightforward but rewarding and stunning for sure.

Sometimes you don’t have to travel a great distance to achieve or experience good things….they can be right there on your doorstep.
